Major Adventures

This is just a list of major travel adventures from the past few years.

  • Trekking in New Zealand and Tasmania (1993) - Except for a business trip to England this was my first major overseas adventure.  With my friend Dave Hooke we hiked in New Zealand for 4.5 weeks on a variety treks including Arthur's Pass, Nelson Lakes, Mt Aspiring NP, and the Milford Track.
  • Trekking in Nepal (1995) - A friend from college and two others hiked the Annapurna Circuit and I trekked into the Annapurna Sanctuary, plus some time in Kathmandu.  On the way home I spent a week in Ko Samui, Thailand, which included a stay in hospital from pneumonia, but that's another type of adventure.
  • Thailand and Cambodia (2000) - Traveled north to Chaing Mai, spent time in Bangkok with a friend who lives there, several days near the Ankor Wat in Cambodia, then more time at the beach in Ko Samui.
  • Germany (2003) - Visiting Jon in Heidelberg, 4 days in Berlin
  • France (2004) - Summer trip with time in Paris, the Loire Valley, and Marsailles
  • Ski trip to Switzerland and Germany (2005) - Skied in St Moritz and Garmish, with stops in Lichtenstein, Austria, and Italy
  • Wind Rivers and Grand Tetons, WY (2008) - Two weeks backpacking in the Winds and Grand Teton National Park.
  • Bangalore (2010, 2011) - Business trips to our India office
